Main Usage Period
Freeway Usage Period
FREEWAY can be applied at any time of year (except on hard surfaces - see below). Best results are achieved when FREEWAY is applied from late winter to early spring although application to frozen ground should be avoided. Effects are usually slow to appear and may not become evident until the chemical has been carried to the rooting zone of the weed by adequate moisture.

FREEWAY can be applied with hydraulic sprayers, knapsack sprayers or Controlled Droplet Application (CDA) equipment.

Use of Freeway on Hard Surfaces
Weeds Controlled
FREEWAY controls susceptible annual weeds if applied pre-germination, as directed in Rates of Use. Established perennial weeds are not controlled at these lower rates of use.

Compatibility
FREEWAY is compatible with label approved formulations of glyphosate and also with SUPERTOX 30. Always comply with the recommendations for both products.
Application With Hydraulic Sprayer
Half fill the spray tank with water, start agitation and add the required amount of FREEWAY. Whilst maintaining agitation add the remaining water. Vigorous mechanical or hydraulic agitation must be maintained to ensure a uniform suspension during spraying. Apply by conventional hydraulic sprayer through medium to coarse nozzles at 2-3 bars (30-44 psi).

Application with Controlled Droplet Application (CDA) Equipment
FREEWAY can be applied undiluted via CDA equipment. Refer to the CDA lance manufacturer’s instructions before use.
Soil
Weed control may be reduced on heavy soils or soils with high organic matter or ash substrates. Around trees and shrubs: Do not treat sands, very light soils, gravelly soils and soils with an organic content less than 1%. In apple and pear orchards: do not use on soils containing 10% or more organic matter or on very light soils or sands.
Timing
Non-crop situations: Apply in early spring to weed free soil or apply in a tank-mix with a contact herbicide (see compatibility section) if vegetation is present. Spray when rain is expected soon after treatment. Do not spray in dry conditions. DO NOT replant area within 2 years of treatment. DO NOT spray near desirable trees or plants or their rooting areas at rates exceeding 5.5 l/ha.
Crop situations: Around trees and shrubs. Spray in late winter or early spring onto a weed free soil. Do not treat plants less than 50 mm (2 inches) tall or plants established less than 12 months.

Direct application to small trees and shrubs should be avoided. Band spraying is the recommended method of application.

Cautions: Do not apply FREEWAY to the following species: Acer palmatum, Betula, Deutzia, Eunonymus, Forsythia, Fraxinus, Ligustrum (privet), Lonicera, Philadelphus,
Prunus (ornamental and fruiting species), Senecio, Spiraea, Syringa, Viburnum.

Apple and pear orchards. DO NOT APPLY FREEWAY to apple or pear orchards established less than 12 months. Do not plant following crops for at least 12 months following application of FREEWAY. If susceptible crops such as vegetables are to be grown, this interval should be extended to 24 months.
